Council Guardian (Gnash)

My role will be to establish the vision and ensure the framework of the guild is set up until we are able to establish the first council. Upon the full completion of the council I will act to enforce the rules of the guilds framework but participate as a guild member and be held to the same standards as any other leader or member. If I ask you to cut 100 trees I am cutting 150. I will not expect anything from anyone that I am not willing to do myself. Words are hollow on this paper but I intend to show my absolute resolve to the support of this guild and any member is able to hold me accountable. This title is not to reign over people but to act as a Guardian of the core values and vision of the guild. This position will honor the decisions of the Council. This position will only overrule the Council if the Council acts in a manner that is contradictory to the core values of the Guild or to the values of the greater Unhinged Community. This position is absolute and may not be dissolved by the Council at any time. This must be so as it is a safeguard to the infrastructure of the guild and the reputation of the Unhinged community. If I feel I am unable to act as the Guardian or in the event of a long absence there will be mechanics to replace the Council Guardian. The leadership of this guild also falls under the Unhinged Gaming Brand and will take heed in ensuring the standards of the overall community are followed.

High Council

A leader among leaders will ascend to the High Council. This position will be obtained once a Council member has proven themselves in both temperament and strong leadership qualities to both his House and to the entire Guild. The council may nominate any member to the High Council by way of guild mechanics on the Unhinged Gaming platform. The council will vote to approve the nomination before the vote is passed to the entire guild. Upon approval of the simple majority of the council every guild member will also vote on the ascension of a member to the High Council. A 2/3rd Majority must be achieved to ascend to this station. While the position will be guarded with honor those who take the mantle of High council should do so with humble gratitude as this position is also not absolute. The high council will act as a judiciary on all matters and oversee the guilds progress and success. You will be looked upon for Guidance and Leadership and held to the highest of standards. Our core values will be absolute and each Council member will be expected to act in solidarity with those values. Failure to do so will reap swift and adequate consequences.

Council

The leader of each House will be recognized as a Council Member.  As a council member your role is to be a representative at all council meetings and to act as a dignitary to convey plans of your House and progress towards both House goals and Guild goals. You will have the power to voice concerns or have the guild's attention brought to important matters that concern your fellow House members. You will also act as a conduit for the High Councils decisions to be relayed and implemented within your House. It will also be your responsibility to ensure your House is meeting guild goals.

House of (x) member

A House may claim its banner before the Council and seek recognition by way of its Leader. As a member of a House you are expected to work with the members of your house to achieve personal, House, and Guild goals. Once a House has enlisted you into its ranks and you wear the tag of the House. Upon entry to a house you will claim your voting rights within the guild. The leader of the house will use simple majority rules voting to establish the vote of the House. The weight of the houses vote is explained below.

Recruit

As a recruit you have shown interest in joining our guild and shall seek acceptance into a House. A recruit or large group of people wishing to join may petition for a new House to be formed. This will be a decision of the High Council as we will need to ensure balance within the guild.

Houses

What is a house? A House is a group of 8 people or more that have like minded goals. This could be pvp, pve, trade, or even a profession. Ashes of Creation allows for groups up to 8 people as a core mechanic. This game is not meant to be played alone. You Will Need Help!. The House system is designed to give you that core group that you can play the game with. Houses are not meant to divide or proclaim the importance of one group over another. We want this to be a way that people can group up and work together and allow us to reach the right group quickly with the appropriate task that needs to be accomplished. Your house is your immediate support system within the overall guild.
A person will belong to only 1 house within the guild. The house is not a rigid structure that can't flex into all aspects of the game but will generally have a core focus. Your membership of a house is not preassigned or absolute as we hope people will let this system grow organically. With the help of our recruiting process, we should be able to help point you in the right direction. The cohesion within the House is the most important thing. There will be mechanics for people to shift houses as well within the guild.

Claiming a House Banner within Unhinged will be done by order of the council once it is established. The first houses will be created by the early adopters of our community and set in place by the Council Guardian. No house is absolute and will see changes throughout the course of the game. Each House leader will act as a Council member and carry the vote of their house. This person can be changed at any time with a vote within the Unhinged gaming platform so all members vote for the leadership change and can be verified by the High Council.

Some examples of this are as follows:

  • The House of Gnash proclaims its place in the Unhinged community as a PVP focused House. We will act as a protector of this guild and work diligently to hone our skills to conquer the foes that wish us harm in the world of Verra. We await the call of our brethren as we sharpen our blades. Find us in the arenas to test your merit.
  • The house of Lenigrast proclaims its place in the Unhinged community as a PVE crafting society focused on forging things from the metals of the earth for its guild. Members will be focused on expanding their expertise, and securing resources for their craft through any means possible.
  • The house of Velaryon proclaims its place in the Unhinged community as a PVX maritime focused house that stands ready to serve Unhinged on the high seas. They will be focused on honing ship-to-ship combat skills, treasure hunting, and bringing fish to port!

These examples are very general and I hope they are more refined and given much more thought and detail for each House. Think of this as your proclamation to the guild of your House’s intent. This doesn’t mean it can't change. It doesn’t mean you can't craft or gather if you join a House focused on pvp or vice versa. Our goal is for you to be able to find a House within Unhinged that offers you support and fulfillment of your personal playstyle.

Voting

The voting system will work as follows:

8 members = 8 votes

3 members = 3 votes

An extra vote on a subject will be given to those that are voting on their core focus. (1/2 vote added to each member of the House on topics related to its core Focus).

For example: 8 members will have a weighted vote of 12 for core focus votes within the guild.

This is because one group should not dictate the playstyle of the other unless the overall guild agrees on a pathway and has proven their theory to the members as a whole who may then vote for or against a topic
