Tier Two: Excellence in Participation

There's TWO ways to reach Tier TWO (easy to remember, eh?).

Requirements

You must meet all the requirements for Tier One, plus everything in either option 1 or option 2:

Option 1: Preparedness & Team Play

  • Consumables
    • Enough food, flasks, and additional consumables for ten (10) pulls
    • All additional consumables appropriate for your class in play for the current tier
      • Example: Warrior = strength elixer, agility elixer, AP consumable, OH sharpening stone
      • Example: Shadow Priest = spell damage elixer, shadow damage elixer, wizard oil
  • World buffs
    • Minimum of five (5) world buffs from the Tier One list
  • Proper enchantments
    • Enchanted properly for your class and spec
    • Best-in-Slot (BiS) enchants for BiS gear (e.g., 4 stats to chest)
    • Good enchants for good gear (e.g., 3 stats to chest)

Option 2: Above & Beyond

  • Extra effort above and beyond raid nights, including but not limited to:
    • Recruitment efforts
    • Providing alts (meeting tier 1 & 2 reqs) to facilitate additional raid teams as needed
    • Providing continual, ongoing help to other guild members in an extraordinary manner
    • This one is a lot more subjective, and we're aware of that. We'll be extraordinarily transparent when awarding this.

Rewards

Regardless of which option is met, the reward is:

  • One hard reserve for the current tier of content
    • This is not in addition to the HR for T1. It merely gives priority in the event the same item is HR'd by more than one raider.
    • Items must be appropriate for your main character and main spec, and must be approved by guild leadership

Understanding Hard Reserves (HRs)

How it Works

Our HR system is designed to reward dedication while maintaining fairness.

Selection Process

  • Tier Two members have priority over Tier One members
  • If multiple players in the same tier HR the same item, the winner is determined by a roll

Eligibility

  • You must maintain your tier eligibility to keep your HR

Rotation

  • After winning your HR, you can select a new HR the following week if you remain eligible

Impact of PUGing

  • A high quantity of HRs could impact our ability to PUG. When we must bring in PUGs to fill groups (highly likely when we split off additional teams), leadership may temporarily suspend T1 HRs until such time that we've reduced the number of PUGs needed to a level at which it makes sense to bring them back. Help us recruit to speed this process up!

Why We're Doing This

Unhinged is a unified guild composed of exactly one team. By rewarding those who consistently demonstrate availability, preparedness, and attention to assigned tasks, we ensure that powerful items have the maximum impact on our raids. This approach:

  • Enhances raid performance
  • Accelerates gear progression
  • Incentivizes commitment
  • Directly rewards that commitment
  • And still indirectly rewards more casual playstyles!

Nudging the gear curve such that we're rewarding dedication helps us to clear content more efficiently. As we clear content faster, all members benefit from increased loot opportunities. As all members gear quickly, we unlock the ability to split into more raid teams and accelerate gear acquisition even more! So... with some weighted distribution now, we unlock far more rewards in totality.
