🧱 Base Maintenance & Upgrades

All pictures below are from the Sub-Fief Console. See the “Shields & Land-Claims” under the “Crafting Bases & Vehicles” section if you do not know what a Sub-Fief Console is

⬆️ Upgrading Your Base

  • The tax system for base ownership is scalable, not a flat fee. Taxes are levied on each Sub-Fief Console you own and the amount you owe is determined by the size and complexity of your base
  • Owning multiple bases means you must pay taxes for each one individually. The cumulative tax burden increases with each additional base, particularly if they are large or extensively expanded
  • There are two types of consoles*:*
    • Standard Sub-Fief Console: It claims a predefined area of land that costs less taxes. This area is fixed and cannot be expanded. This is ideal for establishing an initial base but offers limited space
    • Advanced Sub-Fief Console: It allows you to expand your claimed territory both horizontally and vertically using staking units. You can add up to 5 horizontal and 5 vertical extensions, significantly increasing your buildable area

📌 Setting a Respawn Point

  • Your initial base automatically becomes a respawn option. If you construct additional bases, you can designate one as your active respawn point, but only one base can serve this function at any given time
  • Your Sub-Fief Console respawn point can be overridden with:
    • Your vehicles also act as mobile respawn points. Wherever you last parked a vehicle, it becomes an available location to respawn and overrides your base’s respawn point
    • In the section "Detecting & Distracting Worms" under "Planning For Sandworms", it was noted that Respawn Beacons exist and they override your base’s respawn point

🛡️ Maintaining Your Base’s Shields

  • To ensure that your shields do not go down, you must manually refuel the generators by pressing “Refuel Generators” (as shown in the previous picture). Performing this action will automatically take materials from your inventory
  • The Power Down In timer shows you the amount of energy left for the base. This can come from the Fuel-Powered Generator that requires fuel, or other passive methods of power generation (some fuel may always be required)
  • The Storm Alert timer shows you the amount of time left for the storm to pass. Storms take more energy to protect your base and can damage your base if the shields are not active, which will cause a faster decay
  • The Taxes Due currency (in Solari) shows you the amount due for taxes of your property. You have to manually click that button that you see below, in order to make your payment to the Emperor

💰 Taxation Details

  • It’s important to note that there could be serious consequences to not paying your taxes. You may face the Sardaukar and loose your claimed territory

📈 Entity Limits

  • There are limits to the amount of entities that can be generated for crafting
  • It may be better to upgrade what you have rather than introducing smaller cheaper equivalents
